We were commissioned to make the Redruth town mascot lamb which was designed by some local school children. It had to be heavy enough not to blow over, sturdy enough for kids to sit on but light enough to be carried through town on festival days.
Sculptor Joyce van der Hoeven, created the original pattern out of polystyrene. This picture shows the first stages of covering the pattern with fiberglass. We used spray techniques to give the textured effect on the Grp coating. Finally air-brushing the colours to create the features & endearing expression. The box housed our carrying handles and displayed the sponsors details. The final product weighed in at 45-50kg and 2 people could carry it.
